I'm BACK!

Image
I’ve been in a little bit of a rut you guys. There hasn’t been any updates on this blog nor in my journal. There hasn’t even been any new videos in my YouTube channel since last year! As much as I don’t want to admit it, these forms of social media are proof, not only to you, but to myself that I’ve done and recorded something worthy of sharing. “But there is nothing interesting to report.” That has been my excuse since this 2014 started. I’ve been sooo … VANILLA! Enough is enough! I’ve come to realize that there is only one person who can save me from Boringville and that person is me. I have to take action in order to make myself feel more ALIVE. I need to be inspired again and I need to stick to that inspiration/motivation and run with it. No more slacking off. We have to shake things up! And what better song to boost morale, get us amped for this new week  than “Backstreet’s Back”? #90skid  ((You guys remember this video?)) Happy Monday to y’...

To All the Fighters of 2014

Image
Hello blogger peeps. Happy New Year! By this time, you will probably one of three types of people. Person 1: You’re still listing/deciding on your new year’s resolution Person 2: You’ve already made your new year’s resolution and you are now in the process of accomplishing it Person 3: You didn’t make a new year’s resolution and you don’t plan on doing so For Person 1, 2, and 3, please listen to “The Fighter” by Gym Class Heroes (feat. Ryan Tedder) as you read the rest of this entry. Game? OK, here we go. Dear Person 1, Take your time. Make sure the things you want to accomplish have one common end game: happiness. You can say you want to be more organized, you want to lose weight, you want that 6 pack, you want to be better at your job, you want travel, you want to try new things, etc.   All those things are fine, but if it wont make you happy in the end, it’s USELESS. When you write down a goal on a piece of paper (or on some app you kids ...

OH, December

Image
December , the time of the month when you smell and taste hot chocolate or coffee most of the time, see Christmas decorations, see Christmas trees, and see people wearing sweaters, scarves, and beanies. It’s the time of the month when you get presents, when there’s sale in each store, and when you see a lot of smiles on people’s faces. It’s the time of the month when we eat a lot of FOOD with our family. I can go on and on about December . It’s one of my favorite months. What I love the most about December is overplayed Christmas songs. Some people hate it sometimes and some people love listening to Christmas songs every single day. I’m one of those people who likes overplayed Christmas songs. It gives me joy every time I listen to it. Everyone has his or her favorite Christmas song; mine has to be Baby, It’s Cold Outside by Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Jordan. This song is one of the greatest duet songs I’ve ever heard. It’s relaxing and easy to sing along to....

Everything November Storms Can Bring

Image
In honor of the beginning of November, I give you "November Storms" by Ronnie Day. This little song right here is a blast from the past. I remember listening to Ronnie Day during middle school and early high school years. The tracks of this album is actually lined up like a story. Hopeless romantics such as myself will definitely appreciate  it. A sweet song such as this is definitely appropriate for this month. November is the teaser of all months. It whispers, "the holidays are almost here." Also, the Starbucks red cups come out this month. I can't express in words why this makes me giddy. This November though is extra special for me. On November 30th, I will be picking up one the most wonderful human beings on this planet from the airport and bringing him home to OUR condo. This will be our first home together and a start of a brand new adventure. "I'm excited" is an understatement. Long distance relationships can teach y...

I'm Going To Make It 'Cause I Said I Would

Image
October. This month and I have issues being friends. October 2010, 2012, and now 2013 have not been nice to me. I don't know what it is really. Since the start of this month, I haven't been doing anything right. I've been messing up all over the place. For goodness sake, has anybody seen my "A" game? It's missing.  Work has been no bueƱo (my fault), the move to new place has been challenging (my fault), and for some reason I cannot get my regular attitude/outlook right (my fault?).  So what should one do when they're having a crappy day, week, month, or even year?  You let go. You scream, cry, blame the world for your misery. You do whatever it is you feel like doing. You let go and detach yourself for a minute (or an hour). Do not bottle it up all inside you. The truth is, nobody has it all figured it out.  Be human. It's okay. Then after letting go. After crying and feeling shitty for yourself, stand up. Stand up and brus...

Being Yourself...

Image
We intend to impress people for being somebody else. Being yourself is the number one thing in life that is important. People say, “Oh, I don’t care what people think about me.” That might be a lie because we always care what people think, but it should be the ones who really care about us. I still tend to lack my true personality when it comes to public speaking during class times; but I love meeting people who love my true personality. It's better to be your own person in life. Pretending to be someone they are not is not okay. It's better to be different or unique. Being you requires you to be yourself first.  BE YOU! Be who you were meant to be in this life because it will pay off. Be honest and open when you meet people. You should know that you’re not perfect, so don’t be a “robot” in this world. I choose a song called, “I Am Not A Robot” by Mariana & The Diamonds for this post. Just remember robots have to be controlled, they are not in control...

Oh these times are hard...

Image
It has been a little over a year since I’ve moved away from home. That means it has been over a year that I’ve been (mainly) supporting myself financially, and let me tell you something kids…it’s HARD! For all the big kids out there who are going through the same thing, hang in there. I know what it’s like to go paycheck to paycheck and not saving anything. I know what it feels like to think about what the cheapest thing you can eat is. I know what it’s like to lower you pride and ask for help, then feel like a fool for not budgeting properly in the first place. Look, I’m not saying I’ve got it really bad. I have food, shelter, utilities, etc.   Everything is relative my friends. When you’re down to your last few dollars and you have stretch it until the next paycheck, it’s almost impossible not to breakdown. I’ve done that. I’ve broken down. I’ve hated myself for being stupid about money. It’s something I’m constantly working on. But you know what? You really have...
